How is everyone doing today?

You are probably wondering what I am up to since you may have been directed here by a Tweet.

You see amongst other things, I am an aspiring Internet Marketer. I have been dabbling for a couple of years now, not sure of what I am doing but I have such a desire to find my place in the Web. I desire to make a living here and I want to bring something of great value to those whom I would do business with. This has been part of the reason for my slow ascent into the Internet marketing arena. I am also dead set against spamming or scamming. I want to be know as a marketer of integrity.

One of the ways that I have found to build my own list is by giving away a Free Auto Responder. Yesterday I inserted my first special Email to be sent out to my list of 20 subscribers. So what is the big deal about that? For one thing this is the first time I have inserted an extra Email into my Auto-responder series. My list may be very small but it is kind of exciting to know I have found something that I truly believe is worth “blasting” to my list.

In my last post I talked about MyTVClassifieds and that was what I ended up sending the Email to my list about. Sunday they had a webinar/phone call about the launch (soon, very soon) of MTVC and during the call we were pleasantly surprised to find out that there were going to be 3000 Founder Positions added for quick movers, this prompted me to write the following letter to my list.

It is probably not the best job of copy writing and I know a real pro could make it convert and use more persuasive language and all that but the urgency was there because to be honest with you I believe strongly that MTVC is going to be a really big winner in the very near future.

Here is the letter I sent out to my list with glaring mistakes and all.

I think you will agree that times are tough. The economy really sucks right now and if you are like me, you are trying to either find a way to make some extra money or possibly even a full time income.

I recently came across a no brainer. Or at least I think it is. Even with the worlds financial system being like it is, there are still lots of businesses out there making money and spending money. One of the high costs of doing business is advertising.

What if I could show you something that can bring you in lots of income from local businesses without a lot of effort on your part. I am talking residual income. Month after month, year after year. It is not huge to begin with and it will take time to build up your business, but every month you will receive the money from the new business that you bring in, plus the income from the businesses that paid you last month and the month before and the month before.

Not only will you make recurring income, but the businesses that you provide this service for will thank you immensely for what you are offering to them at such a low price.

Lets face it advertising costs can kill a business but you can do something about it and gain respect and gratitude right where you are living.

You know just a few short years ago no one had even heard of any of these famous sites (with the exception of eBay).

Now hardly anyone hasn’t heard of them. They all started small and erupted into something huge through the power of the World Wide Web and viral marketing.

That was the Email I sent to my list. I have a couple of mentors that I try to run things by before I do them and one of them is Debbie Penner. Debbie lives in Japan and is an Internet coach and my personal trainer in the 10k-challenge where she is teaching a group of 10 students how to make $10,000 a month in 18 Months.  She is training us for free and one of the rules is that we are to use free tools and training to make a few dollars and then we are to reinvest that money into other programs until such time as we are making that goal of $10k per month.

Now don’t tell Debbie that I am cheating by sending my list to a business opportunity that I actually invested $35 of my own money into. My list came to me free, and I did not spam anyone or put out any cash to get those 20 people. It was a just a lot of hard work using techniques that Debbie taught us, and good old fashioned sweat equity. However I really do believe that MyTVClassifieds is going to be a home run and I did not want anyone to miss out on such a great opportunity. That is what prompted me to tell everyone I know and to blog about it with this sense of urgency.

Welcome to the View from here!!

I keep reinventing my blog because I want to make sure I have something of value for my readers. I am interested in several topics as I am sure you can tell by my banner.

Today I want to talk about MLM. I have kind of dipped my toes into the waters of MLM on several occasions but have not found a product or a company that really grabbed my attention until just recently.

Back in June I thought I had found my dream company. Actually it was not the company that was my dream but rather the product they were promoting.  I spent months involved with this MLM that was supposed to launch on July 1ST with a new cell phone technology. Man I wanted that one to work out (I am a gadget freak after all).

Unfortunately, they are still launching next week…  soon… in just a few days… etc. On one of the teleconference calls the promoter said, I have a pile of SIM cards on the desk in front of me and this will be up and running by the end of the weekend Monday at the latest, that was toward the end of August or the beginning of September.  There were many other excuses.

I finally did my due diligence and found out that the company has been through several metamorphoses, lawsuits, etc. and this has been going on for a few years. I got out of that one and they still don’t have the flagship product that they promised, in fact the phone company they were representing backed out of the deal and these guys started saying they had another big player to take the place of the original phone provider. Meanwhile they were billing my credit card and when I asked for a refund they told me that although they did not have phones for sale, they had other products and I had an opportunity to make money selling their other stuff. Well the long and short of it is that I did not want to sell any of their other stuff. I came on board to sell cell phones and when I explained it to my banker, they agreed and I got my money back anyway.

The fact of the matter is that with the economy being like it is and jobs being a scarce commodity at this time, a person needs to create their own income stream. I know that there are many great MLM opportunities out there and it just boils down to finding something that is first of all legitimate and second to find one that fits your personality. Not everyone is into pills, potions and lotions. You can only auto-ship so many products and there are only so many friends and family members that will buy your stuff and then they are saturated too. I am not knocking those things. Some folks are really good at selling them, they know people to sell to and enjoy doing it. I am not one of them.

There are some wonderful, quality products out there and it boils down to finding something that fits your personality and that you believe in. I am from the old school of truly believing in what your selling. That puts passion in your sales and gets others excited about what you are offering them. When buyers see that you really delight in your product, they get your fever too and tell others about what you have. Nothing and I mean nothing beats word of mouth advertising. Add that to the power of the Internet and a person can really make a good living.

Now I have mentioned that I am a gadget nut. Actually I used the word “freak” and I really am.  It is not just gadgets, I like really cool technology too. I try to see the bigger picture and the cool factor when I think about getting involved with a MLM opportunity.

So with that in mind… I recently found something that I think is very promising.

It combines free classified ads with video and throws in an element of fun with reverse auctions (a little something to keep people coming back to see when the the price is right so they can buy the item). It is like melding Craigslist/eBay/YouTube into one. The system is set up to allow you to join and then give away free classified ads in your local hometown (or everywhere, it is the Internet after all). You can sell banners, display ads or video ads to local businesses and grow residual income. You also get overrides on a binary matrix.

Do you have to some work? Yup, if you want to really make money you do, but the work is not too hard, basically all you have to do is to get the word out and let the site sell itself.
